Amazon.com woes

I hate Amazon.com.

I will now end up spending more money there this year because of their Prime Shipping trial that was offered to me.

I noticed today that Star Trek TNG DVD boxsets were available for $51 for Seasons 1, 2, and 3. I haven't scored 2 and 3 yet so I added them to my cart and saw the offer for 3 month free trial in the Prime Shipping deal they recently released.

I never thought about it but then figured that based on all my purchases over the last year I definitely spend more than $79 on shipping costs alone.

So now I have 15 months worth of Prime shipping for $79.

Damn you Amazon.

In the end, I will spend more money. But at least it will be on actual products rather than shipping.

For want of Interstate '76

I miss this game.

I really miss it.

I still have it on CD. The original version. However, time and technology have advanced far beyond what will allow me to play on my current PC without a lot of configuration hassle. Im seriously thinking about building a cheap Win98 SE box to throw this game at and relive.

Interstate 76 was way ahead of it's time. Way before Grand Theft Auto 3 came out, 76 just ruled.

It took place in a fictional southwest with issues of crime, high inflation and energy prices. You were a vigilante, and you had a muscle car as your weapon.

Had a totally bitching soundtrack as well by Bullmark. I still listen to it to this day.

Interstate 76, we miss you.

Activision, if you or any of the original development team read this (hah), a lot of fans would love an updated version of I76. Even if it was the same story but totally updated engine/graphics, we would snatch it up.

Intestate 82 however, is just best left at hardly a mention.

Mucho Stuff,

Lots of stuff has happened in the last month.

Finally sold my dads house. Went to Branson on the Christmas break from work. Won $10,000 on a $5 scratcher ticket and ended up with $7100 after taxes. Placed a large chunk of sale from the house and lottery into an IRA and Annuity. Should hopefully reduce tax liability come April 15, 06.

Still looking for a good PDA.

The war between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray is surely heating up. Myself, I will probably get a combo box so I don't have to worry that if one format fails I won't wont be able to play the movies I have already purchased on it.

I have been in the HD Realm with my High Definition Tivo from DirecTV since Sept of 04, and I am really ready for some HD Love for my movies.

Got an Xbox 360 on launch day, (yeah, Nov 22 was a while back but I hardly update this blog, whatevah) been loving HD games on it since day one. I hear Street Fighter 2 Hyperfighting will be released on Live Arcade come March. I can't wait.

Also have cut out sugar laced drinks such as straight Coke or Pepsi. I can drink Diet Pepsi and Coke Zero as they don't taste too different, but Lemonade or Pink Lemonade from Crystal Light totally own me.

Anyway, I guess thats enough of an update for now. Not that anyone reads this anyways.

Intel in a Mac.

So Apple has come along and released a bunch of Mac stuff with Intel Insideā„¢.

More market share for Intel I guess, and I don't really mind it. What gets my goat is this snarky comment on Apple.com.

"What's an Intel chip doing in a Mac? A whole lot more than it's ever done in a PC."

WTF?

Then they go on to claim, 2x to 4x faster than previous Apple products. What were those previous products? G5's and the like. The same CPUs they used to claim that tehy were better all along. HELLO Jobs, pass the silly stuff you are smoking, I wish to partake!.
